The Ski Lift

Practice tips

-Remember your finger numbers are the same fingers on each hand--your thumb is always 1, etc.

-Make sure you know where all the C's are on the piano

-Try counting the finger numbers out loud, then the note names

-This song is in middle C position, so both your thumbs (1 fingers) will share middle C. I also call this the butterfly position, because your hands look like butterfly wings.

-This song focuses on scales or steps.

-Pay attention to if the steps are going up the piano (to higher sounding notes) or down the piano (to lower sounding notes)

-Pay attention to when you switch hands.

-This song has quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes.  You can count 1 for a quarter, 1-2 for a hlaf note, 1-2-3-4 for a whole note, or you can count "quarter", "half note", "whole note hold it".

-Practice one line at a time and then play the whole song together

-Make sure you can play this song 3 times perfectly before working on the next song
